Very well written and unsettling, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. A harrowing exploration of grief and psychosis.

Sometimes I think you prefer it down there, (...), you go so deep you forget you're supposed to come back.

a gorgeous story about love and grief, holding on and letting go and how painful both are. a wonderful steady build up through glimpses of love and frustration and fear.

I really loved this book. It has lesbians and the ocean >o<!!!!
It is, I think more of a metaphor and things do not get explained.
I still really enjoyed reading it. Especially the submarine chapters were super interesting yet also kind of scary and haunting. The end made me cry though >^<.
Spoiler I found the ending as beautiful as it was sad. It reminded me of the original ending of the little mermaid and, in a way, it fits in a sad and beautiful way.

I wish we got more of Leah’s perspective and had more explanation on what happened while she was gone, and I wish we got more explanation at the end of what happened to the place that Leah worked for (I think they called it the center or the institute?) and if they were involved or
Spoilerwhy they shut down their website and their phone lines
. I overall enjoyed the book and I appreciated being able to read both Miri and Leah’s perspectives of the story. As someone with pretty severe anxiety, I found myself relating to Miri often.

Firstly, I love how we have LGBTQ+ lead characters where it is not the primary focus of the story. The book is so beautifully written, I couldn’t help but binge it. It’s maybe a bit fantastical, bordering on normal with a supernatural edge but I loved it. I’d highly recommend.

As beautiful as it was unsettling. The only reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because I'm honestly not sure how I feel about the ending. But absolutely worth a read!
