Quality declining

I really enjoyed the overall storyline for Will and Paige, but I feel like the quality of the writing is not on par with the Bennett series. The voice/tone the story was told in felt somewhat immature.

My first read by Layla Hagen – will not be my last.

Will Connor is a cop – detective. One night, he gets a call about some possible foul play happening in an abandoned building, and he gets there and meets Paige – and is knocked on his ass.

Paige has just returned home from a 3-year stint working abroad in Paris. She’s missed her family terribly and is happy to be back. She’s very attracted to Will, but her dad is former military, and Paige isn’t really interested in a man in uniform with a dangerous job, but Will may just be able to change her mind.

Will is the typical protective older brother. He lost his parents young and had to take responsibility for himself and his siblings at a young age. He’s a go-getter; he gets what he wants, and he wants Paige.

Paige comes from a big family as well, and is close to them. Her parents are still around, and still together, and she worried about her mom and dad a lot when she was younger. She’s had a hard time letting herself love, according to her mother.

Together, Paige and Will are a great couple. Will was so sweet and romantic, planning surprises (I’d love a guy like that) for her. There was a storyline with Will’s nephew that kind of died off, and I would have like to have seen that explored more.

Overall, this was a good read, and I will continue to read this series.

ANOTHER absolutely AMAZING story from Layla Hagen. I just LOVED Will & Paige. Will was such a heartfelt, hunky guy. Paige had her struggles but they both got exactly what they wanted in the end. These stories have just been wonderful to read. Don't wait. READ NOW. You definitely WON'T be disappointed. 5+++ stars!!

Meant for You (The Connor Family) by Layla Hagen

It happened in an instant. He lost his head and found his heart. For Will Connor, Paige Lamonica spells the beginning of the rest of his life. Now he just has to convince her to take a chance on him. Hagen keeps the sparks, but tones down a bit on the sizzle. Meant For You requires patience, because it packs a great deal of heart into a sometimes steamy, yet always enchanting read.

Will and Paige were so perfect together. Their story had everything. The sweet, the swoon. The sexy and the tension. And as always we get to see plenty of the rest of the Connor clan which is always a great added bonus. Throw in special appearance from some of the Bennett clan and it's even better. It's been so much fun getting to know more of the Connor cousins. Can't wait for the next book.

A wonderful portrayal of finding your true love but needing to let go of your insecurities to get your HEA. Paige and Will have instant chemistry and their love affair is scorching hot, but can Paige really fall in love with a man who is put in danger every day? Can Will make understand that his life is more than just being a man with a gun day after day? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that had me locked in from the opening pages this was a great read. I love the family dynamics interwoven in the book and look forward to more siblings in future releases.

This is another book that made me wish half stars were a thing. This one was close to 5 stars for me, but definitely a solid 4.5. I think the story itself was higher but there were things that lost me along the way. Overall I really loved these characters and their relationship with each other and with others in their lives. More of the family in the book which was a plus, as that group is so dynamic and plays off each other very well.
