I have loved this duo of novels since I first read them years ago and having the “redux” version with the bonus novella made it an even more enjoyable experience.
Remy is hardcore and just awesome! She is wholly focused on finding and protecting her brother, Max. Throughout the story she creates a found family and of course with zombies, you’re going to lose some. There are some epic characters and an amazing plot twist that will get you in the gut on the things that we do for the ones we love.

Having the novella bonus from Max’s point of view was a lot of fun, plus it filled in a big gap that had always left me curious when reading the next book, Hollowmen.
If you like zombies, kick butt girls who protect themselves and others, found family and dystopian adventure, then this is definitely a book you want to read!

What once was a duology is now being turned into a series (yay!) with the third book coming October 2023.
