I really enjoyed this semi-non-fiction picture book. Such a fun way to learn new facts about animals.

This clever book features animals from all over the world coming to Dr. Sugar Glider with problems that the doctor fixes with animal facts. Patrick Platypus feels helpless when a family of humans keeps trying to catch him and Dr. Sugar Glider reassures him that platypuses are anything but helpless - they're one of the very few venomous mammals in the world! Sebastian Nurse Shark complains that he can't shake the fish that are stuck to his belly and Dr. Glider explains that they are remoras who will help keep him clean. This book presents a lot of animal factoids in a really cute way and it's sure bet for kids who love animal shows like The Wild Kratts, etc.

This colorful, creative book shares animal facts from the perspective of a sugar glider doctor answering perplexed animals' questions. The facts range from the fascinating to the mildly disturbing, and will appeal most to kids who enjoy gross-out factors.

The book is very well-organized and easy to read, with an appealing layout that is easy to follow. Books with sidebars and trivia are often poorly laid out, so that you don't know what to read first, but this book handles it perfectly.

Children and adults who are interested in animal trivia will enjoy this, and the book would make a great discussion tool for parents and educators talking with children about how to distinguish fact and fiction, since the book combines fictional details related to the animal characters with scientific facts about their species.

Go ahead and eat those rocks, croc! They're digestives. The sugar glider 'doctor' advises other animals all while the reader gains knowledge of animal behavior. Bright and appealing artwork by Oswald, and Jess Keating leading the pack with appealing nonfiction for kids. A delightfully illustrated guide to weird and funny facts with glossaries and back matter.
