I know I've read this, but apparently I never added it to the list, so... here it is. I'll have to reread it at some point for real, because I recall liking it because of the writing in particular, and I wonder how well that'd hold up now.

I have a collection of Lewis Carroll stories in a big hardbound book, but wanted to pick up this little portion of Alice's story because I absolutely love the cover art so so much. It was my first time reading Alice's Adventures even though I have seen many adaptations of the story. I love how nonsensical it was :)

Just as great as I remember it being as a little kid. Only now I can see the nuances to adult behaviors.

I really really liked this book. I loved the writing style. I loved how whimsical and witty the writing was! Little parts of the story here and there made me laugh. I also really liked the ending

(I'm writing this at 2am, a week after I finished reading it, lol. This is not the most informative review.

I know this is a favorite for soooo many people, but it just drove me crazy with the rambling and nothing making sense, and i get it, its all a dream… but seriously I struggled knocking this off my TBR… The movies were better, there I said it.

2.5 rounded up because I’m not the target audience.

Read for the 2021 popsugar book challenge prompt #39. A book everyone seems to have read but you.

Originally I had a much different book picked out for this prompt but decided to fill it with a classic instead. The cartoon Disney Alice in wonderland always creeped me out as a kid but also held a weird curiosity to the wonderland world.

I can see why this was a popular children’s book when it was first published, it’s so very strange and creates such a lush bizarre world but ultimately leaves adults feeling like they are on one big drug induced trip or some weirdo fervor dream. Glad to have finally checked this one off but not sure I’ll read the rest.

I wish I read this earlier. I loved the story, even though it has no plot. The characters really kept the tale going and interesting. I know that Lewis Carroll was NOT on drugs when he wrote this but I did learn that this tale is a social commentary on England in the early 19th century. I'm going to read up on some criticism on that but overall I love the tale.
