A quick but really inspiring read. Talks about modern day feminism, how this term carries negative baggage and misconceptions around it. It is also about the perception of gender, the expectations we put on boys and girls growing up that are harmful for both sexes.
If I could make everyone in the world to read one book, it would be this one ✨

My mind is just blown. Everyone should read this, it’s so short and easy to understand. Everything she says is so accurate and piercings and relatable. I love the way gender is spoken about, placed in contexts to give examples to those who may not have had the same clear cut experiences and I really hope that one day, we can reclaim the word “Feminist” and not see it with such negative connotations.

“The problem with gender is that it was prescribes how we should be rather than recognizing how we are. Imagine how much happier we would be, how much freer to be our true individual selves, if we didn’t have the weight of gender expectations.”

Reader Harder 2018 Challenge: 15: A one-sitting book. (I'm going to say it was, even though it took me more than one sitting, because it was only about 50 pages).

Listened to the author’s reading of the audiobook. It’s really a feminism primer. Very good as far as it goes,

this must be read, must be heard.

i usually don't rate books (edit: essay, not book) that are this short, but this was wonderful. i'm 15, still confused about what exactly feminism is, considering that, sadly, it's not a full fledged subject at school and this was a great explanation of what feminism is, and why it's everyone's problem. not just mine because i'm a woman, but everyone around me. i wish this was longer, because it was wonderful. maybe one day, when i'm more confident i can proudly call myself a feminist. for now, i hope i'm a feminist.
