Read for Librarian Book Group
Quite good poems about the changes in the seasons, that also doesn't go for the cliche parts of the season.

Beautiful book of small seasonal-based poems. Reminds me a bit of e.e. cummings style writing. Small and marvelous.

June 2016 - I can't decide if I like the poems or illustrations better - both are wonderful. We read this a season at a time, and Ben kept choosing it again which pleasantly surprised me.

May 2017 - We read it all in one go this year, and it's making me want to read more poetry to Ben. He found a lot of the poems funny this time, and noticed lots of little details in the illustrations.

Cute picture book for kids. Poems about the four seasons are colorfully illustrated with pictures of kids enjoying nature--picking apples, etc. The titles of the poems are just dates: "March 26" and then a poem about daffodils shivering and wishing they had waited to bloom.

I’m really not a poetry fan but the beautiful illustrations on this collection really enrich the experience!! March 20 turkey capture my attention and resonates with me. This is a book of poetry I didn’t mind sharing with my LO.

When Green Becomes Tomatoes by Julie Fogliano Illustrated by Julie Morstad is appropriate for ages 5-10 years old. These poems are so full of details and light that truly emerge you into each of the seasons. The book is split up into four parts that correlate with the four seasons. When it comes to using this book in the classroom I do not believe it would suit my classroom the best. A lot of the poems not have a lot of literary devices and not not really grab the readers attention. <relaxing><lighthearted><hopeful>
