I was so happy when this book first came out. More stories about my favorite characters! Gaps between the original trilogy filled in! (Lucivar's marriage!) And all those little tales that were hinted at, but never explained in the trilogy. I have read and reread some of these stories so many times that I'm surprised my book hasn't fallen apart yet. But, then, I do love short stories. And these were just what I needed at the time when I thought there would be no more Black Jewels books. I still read these stories, as I believe they are better than most of the later books, with the exception of Twilight's Dawn.

These four stories always warm my heart and restore my hope that everything will be alright in the world of The Blood. Read each story in order last time and after the appropriate book it sprung from. Now my habit is to read all the original trilogy through, jump to story 4, go back to story 2, then read 1 & 3 last. Then I go back and read The Invisible Ring so I can start the second trilogy. Finishing my emotional journey with Tangled Webs and Twilight's Dawn.

This book is a wonderful way to fill in the gaps in between the books of the Black Jewels main trilogy. It gives the "more" on some characters that I craved....especially Lucivar and Marian. Don't get me wrong, I wondered what Saetan could possibly have done to Zuulaman that could have been so bad (and boy do you find out) and I really wanted more Daemon and Jaenelle (which we also get) but the L&M romance gets me every time.

Great supplement of short stories to the Black Jewels Trilogy. Particularily enjoyed Lucivar's and Marian's story. Unfortunately, it still didn't fill in many of the holes within the story that I had hoped.

This is the first book that was ever stolen from me lol.
I bought it years and years ago with my first paycheck. I had never read any of the other books in the series so I thought it was a standalone. It wasn't until I got my first E-reader that I delved into the series that this book is based on.
I usually keep the books I like laying around my house. In the car, in the bathroom, on the shelf, on the couch. Usually folks who stop by will end up picking one up and reading while they are visiting(my uncle does this when he stops by). So I don't know who stole my copy of this book. I have yet to run into it in the physical form. So I bought it again on my Nook. It's been years and I still love it. Now I'm going to re-read the series again because I kinda forgot what was going on. Great Series and I'm sad I have yet to buy it again in paperback.
