As a huge Ernaux fan, I was completely underwhelmed by this book. It was totally unprofound. Ernaux seemed like she set herself a year-long writing prompt but there was no point to it, and worse, she thinks there’s a point. Doesn’t meaningfully engage in wealth disparities and is fixated on women in head scarves.

Bon livre qui rappelle le film « Le grand soir ». Intéressant et facile à lire

Considering, thoughtful tone as her usual. This very short one on consumerist reality has more touch of the warmth in our messy humanity  than usual. Comforting night read.
