Being kidnapped by aliens, Jade’s arrives on the planet of Clecania. She finds shelter in the city of Tremanta where according to their laws, she will be protected but she has to stay 1 year before being able to leave this planet. She also have to live the first 3 months with a Clecanian.
Since a plague killed 70% of their female, Clecanian males outnumber the females, 20 to 1. So everything is designed to keep their species from going extinct. Females are treasured and highly valued. Clecanian males have to go to husbandry school from the age of 17 to 20 to become the best husband possible. So that during the coupling ceremony they might have a chance to be selected by a female to have children.
Jane has to go through the coupling ceremony to find a temporary husband for those 3 first months. She is immediately attracted to Theo. Due to his scars and his brooding personality, Theo has never been chosen by any female before. So he thinks she was sent as a spy to gain infos about his work clients. He will try anything to expose her true intentions, even if it means trying to seduce her and act as her husband. But every attempt seems to fail and they end up getting closer and closer each day.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this series since I have never read any aliens books before. Well let me tell you that I don’t regret it for a second. I loved the story of Jane and Theo. All your favorites tropes are present: Grumpy X Sunshine, possessive MMC and FMC, mariage of convenience, true mates … I really liked that Jane was as possessive as Theo. Jane has a lot of humour, a sunshine personality, she’s strong headed, intelligent.
Theo is a brooding man but when you get to know him you’ll see that all he ever wanted was affection and love.
The world building is well done, I really want to learn more about Clecania planet. We saw that different civilisations exist on it. Some choose their bride by wrestling with them, I hope will have the chance to see a story about it.
The bathtub scene was obviously one of my favorites, because of the chemistry between the two of them but also because it was a tender moment, where they shared a part of them that they always locked away. They find in each other a confidant, a lover and a friend. They understand each other’s pain.
I loved to see Jane bonding with other people like her friendship with Asivva who help her understand the customs of their civilisation. You easily get attached to Zikas, he is adorable, he truly care for Jane and her well-being.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I’m excited to read about Rhaego and Fejo’s stories.
It’s written in 3rd person and the spice is 2,5-3 out of 5.

E no final eles ainda serem destinados? Eu simplesmente amo. Gostei também que não houve o famigerado 3rd act break-up e o conflito não foi totalmente resolvido, me engajando ainda mais para os próximo livros.
