I really enjoyed The Hating Game but this was a massive disappointment in comparison.
I completely hated Darcy, the main character. She was so irritating and childish.

I LOVED the author’s first novel, The Hating Game. LOVED IT.
I listened to 4 hours of 99 Percent Mine- I could not like Darcy, not even a little. Initially, her badass start had promise. And then- crickets.
Tom’s been in love with her since high school- as far as I can tell. He tells her he loves her when they’re 18 and she responds flippantly and then leaves the country

Darcy met her dream man at 8 years old and no one has ever measured up to Tom in Darcy's eyes. Not only is he hot but hes the sweetest man ever. There are a few problems though, the biggest one is that he is her brothers best friend so he is totally off limits. The next problem is that she in renovating her grandmothers house that her and her brother inherited and Tom is the contractor in charge of the job.
I really loved The Hating Game and Second First Impressions so I had an assumption that I would enjoy this one as well and I am happy to say that was the case. Although Darcy was pretty insufferable she did grow on me. I saw a lot of comments on reviews saying she was too negative and a downer but honestly i found it nice to read about a realistic person who isn't all toxic positivity and happy go lucky as not everyone is like this and relates to that kind of character. I also think once you learn more about you kind of get why she is the way she is.

Entertaining and easy to read. I liked it better than [b:The Hating Game|25883848|The Hating Game|Sally Thorne|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1467138679s/25883848.jpg|45762345] but it's not a book I'll remember.

I mean I finished it quickly and enjoyed it, but man the privilege especially with money, the characters kinda realized it at the end. Yeah, their relationship was pretty toxic but they love each other, and I was pretty invested in their relationship. It was a good book with good romance.

Sucked quite frankly. Characters are all annoying and one dimensional and the writing is near incomprehensible.
