I wanted to really enjoy enjoy it, but it’s hard to get past the fact that this is a catfishing romance.  I think it impacted how I felt about Stacey and Daniel: it didn’t feel like they had chemistry. It just felt uncomfortable.  The third-act breakup lacked tension—an email or text could have put the brakes on it. In fact, too much of the plot hinged on Stacy‘s unwillingness to communicate. She’s unhappy at home, to the point that her mother’s phone calls are an irritant, and she’s willing to cry at book club about how nice it would be to leave town, but she never sits down with her parents and asks if they are OK or let them know that she wants to move on with her life? It made Stacey an unappealing character.

Cute love story, made even better by the fact that I love the Maryland Renaissance Faire
