Lilah isn’t sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career, or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she’s no longer that same girl and never wants to be again. Ethan Kane wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that. Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let him in, though, she finds out their reunion has nothing to do with her and everything to do with his game. But Ethan’s already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he’ll do anything to keep from losing her again. review: I listened to this on audiobook, so I feel maybe my review will reflect differently than if I had read it. It’s definitely an easy listen (or read!) and while it was a cute story, it was a bit dull and predictable. There were times I rolled my eyes and wanted to shake the characters, but they may be because I didn’t find either of them really likable haha. It is definitely more of a fluff read, although if that’s what you’re looking for then you may enjoy it! rating: 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️

The main female character had me almost banging my head against the wall in frustration with how much of a pushover she was being in the middle of the book, (girl, study and do your homework if you have to!! Oh my god.) but the author really turned it around toward the end, and her decisions and actions made a lot more sense. Overall, very enjoyable, really cute, super fun! I genuinely liked many of the characters and the story. I was sad to see it end.

2 stelle!

Yes!!! This is what I want in a romance book. Ethan was the cutest and Lilah was a fierce women (there's no better combination than that). I love the past-lovers to lovers again trope, and the tension was something else.

I don't know if I have the words to express how much I HATED this book but I will try.

The Good Luck Charm is about a woman named Lilah who is shocked to learn that Ethan, her first love and the man that left her to focus on his hockey career is back in town. Ethan thinks they can pick up where they left off but Lilah isn't the same person she was back then.

I really complain about how much I hate male POVs in romance novels every time but for real, I fucking hate them. This dude is SO NASTY and never has a thought about Lilah that isn't "I want to be inside her hot body soooo bad right now ughgfuhhg". If that wasn't enough to make me want to barf, I was listening to this book on audio and the smut was ridiculously graphic and just.kept.going.on. It seriously went from one sex scene to another in the next chapter and I just?? You serious?? Maybe it wouldn't have grossed me out as much if I had read it myself but on audiobook it felt like it lasted for 20 mins each time and I wanted to scream. I don't want to sound like some pearl-clutching old nun but it was all seriously unnecessary and downright cursed.

If smut keeps happening so much compared to actual emotional development (and literally anything else) I just get hella bored. Also like... ma'am this is the McDonald's drive thru can you stop having sex in public? There was a scene where they were doing it in a car in the woods and some cop came up and Ethan got all pissy??? Why did you both not get arrested I literally hate you.

I'm never going to care about endless smut and I'm sure not going to care if I don't even like the relationship and saying I don't like this relationship would be to put it mildly. I don't really like second chance romances and this one was awful. Ethan was an asshole and I can't think of anything about him besides how fucking horny and entitled he was. I swear to god even at 95% he was STILL going off about how much he wanted to screw Leliah. And then of course smut was still happening because what even happened in this book besides smut? Annoying romance, talk of sports, blah blah; there was nothing to this damn book.

Just no, absolute no. There was nothing in here I was even close to liking and I don't see myself reading from this author again. Which is honestly hilarious because the last book I've tried to read by her, [b:Meet Cute|41063454|Meet Cute|Helena Hunting|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1536852275l/41063454._SY75_.jpg|64134997], I dropped so fast that I never even added it to GR. Should have dropped this one too.

I got bullied in elementary school by guys who’s only personality trait were hockey so maybe this is biased. But this love interest was both so needy but also so dumbfoundingly stupid I feel like bashing my head in.

Like who tf doesn’t respect his gfs boundaries? Who just waltzes in and makes her prioritize hockey, HIS passion, over her own goals??? When he just walks into her house expecting sex AFTER she told him she needed to study… man I saw red. Struggling with school especially when her grades were the thing that would tell her the future she would have…. Man.

I loved the smut and the character development that the MC had from this book. But I cannot stand hockey players.
