I was honestly waiting to be moved by something in this book but it never happened. While I liked the seasonal description and dialogue there was definitely depth and nuance missing. Probably just because the book is older.

This was really hard for me to rate because classics are not my normal cup of tea. I read this on a recommendation from a friend who told me it is incredibly (probably unintentionally) queer coded, and that it was! I did enjoy the story but it does have the slow strolling pace of a classic that I am not overly fond of. Definitely a great intro to classics if you are wanting to try them out!
