Ooh, I loved this! This collection of 3 related short stories (written by some of my favorite authors) was fabulous! I loved coming back to the setting of Tangerine Street (introduced in The Fortune Cafe) and I loved the antiques shop (and the histories of the antiques) that tied all of these stories together. I hope we get to continue to read about this quaint little beach community.

The first story had potential, but also too much stuff to cover in too little space. Making it a full length novel would have served it better. The second story I skipped altogether; I didn't care about the leads at all. The third story is all right, nothing miraculous but nothing terrible.

Message In A Bottle: 5 stars!!! I loved this novella. I really could relate to Jennifer and her struggling with her feelings, over so many things. I especially loved the antique store and how every single item and had a story behind it and how they were displayed with the item. When the father and grown daughter came in and then Jennifer told them even more of the story of the typewriter, it was a very touching part of the book for me. The story ended really quickly with Paul and Jennifer finally getting through their hold-ups on their relationship and getting ready to move further forward in their relationship, so I hope to see a bit more of that in the other two stories! I also really liked how the Fortune Cafe from the first book in the series made an appearance in this story!
Solving For X: This was a cute one, after it got going. The negativity between the two characters at the beginning (although good-natured) kinda made me wonder if I was going to like either of them! ha ha The aspect of the stories of antiques from the shop introduced in the first part of this book was very well crafted into this part of the book (with the toy soldiers) and how it connected the characters, in many ways! The Fortune Cafe also makes an appearance in this story, effectively continuing the tie-ins between the places on the street from book to book. I really enjoy the way this series is coming together with those tie-ins. The email/penpal portion of this story was cute and clever and made for a great change of pace.
A Stitch in Time: This story brought back a character introduced in the first part of the story (Henry), which was another great continuity feature I enjoyed. The interactions between these two characters as they fought over the antique sewing machine and then discovered the deep connection they both had to it was well done. I also loved the setting of the house and the time they spent their on a date and then again later as the story unfolded more.
Overall, I really loved this second book in the Tangerine Street series. I did go with an average of 4 stars here, though I loved the first story so much I gave it 5, because I'm kinda stingy with those t-star ratings! However, it's still a fabulous, enjoyable, fun read. There is one more book to go in this series, and I'm already wishing this was a longer series so I could keep reading about Seashell Beach and Tangerine Street!!!

A hard act to follow
Book two in the Tangerine Street series, was good but not as good as The Fortune Cafe. I think my favorite story was the last one about the sewing machine even though it had some tightly knitted cliches in it.
