Scary af at first, some images are dreadful, at least to me, but the plot wasn't as compelling as the first, for instance, and it felt slightly dragging. And it left a question unanswered, but I can't but love it, anyway

Was a three star most of the way through, but the last page? *shudder*

This is an amalgam of all the things that made Colder good and bad: ill-conceived attempts at a love story (the insults they hurl at each other are supposed to be... what? Endearing?); poor humor; excellently demented Nimble Jack; creepy designs. But it still feels largely like a retread of the first two volumes with no fresh takes on the story. It's a shame that the book peaked with the first volume, which was focused on surreal horror imagery and not on "love prevails" and "haha, Nimble Jack is the kookiest guy!"
