Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?: Big Questions from Tiny Mortals about Death by Caitlin Doughty

Where are all my science/forensic nerds!? This book was SO GOOD!
Death is hard. It’s sad and scary but it’s Science and can be quite interesting.
It is FREE on audible with membership and I highly recommend it. The dark humor had me actually laughing out loud quite a few times.
Plus, I actually learned SO MUCH from this book! You all know how it’s hit/miss with books such as this one. Sometimes there are basic 101 types with things you already know and sometimes you hit gold finding new to you facts that really serve no purpose but to freak people out.
All the topics in this book spark from questions that children have asked the author and you know kids don’t hold back.
This is certainly one of my favorite forensic books of all time.
Turns out the author has other books and I just downloaded another one.

4.5⭐️ I loved this book a little too much considering it’s literally about corpses.

I enjoyed this! The chapters were short and informative. The writing was easy to understand and I feel like death is less mysterious now. If you're looking for super graphic language or descriptions, this isn't the book you want. If you want a lightheaded, but educational explanation of death and what happens to your body afterwards I recommend this.

Moderate: Animal death and Death
In with death there are descriptions of decomposition. This is a book aimed towards a younger audience so it isn't super detailed or upsetting.arirose's review

Eh, not for me. This could have maybe been enjoyable enough, but the jokes just weren't funny to me, lol. Beyond the jokes, everything was interesting but I probably would have enjoyed this better as like a youtube series while I do things in the background. I believe this was narrated by the author, and they did well enough, the intonations of their voice was natural, like that of an aunt or uncle talking about the fascinations of death to their young nieces and nephews.
I saw this has an illustrated edition, I wonder if that would have been more enjoyable.
