A very slow read. Too much self reflection and inner thoughts dialogue from the main character. Takes a while to get to the plot and it happens very quickly once you get to it. It is a very dragged out story for not alot to end up happening in the end.

The intimate scenes were well written but the plot at times was like pulling teeth. The conflicts faces and resolved in the first book seemed to be forgotten and the reader had to start from ground zero with the characters. It felt at times like it was dragging. But once the action started to pick up and the internal conflicts between the leads was resolved the pace picked up and the book improved immensely. The cliff hanger it left off on was amazing and I am really looking forward to reading the next book.

Poppy and Casteel keep me on my toes with their banter and make me laugh a lot. I like where their story is going so much more in this book than from B&A. There definitely were some dull parts that probably could have been left out to make the flow consistent. But for the most part, it rebounded quickly and kept me intrigued 😊 Once again, I loved the supporting characters and have enjoyed this series.
