This book is the equivalent of a sleepover with your BFFs. It just makes you feel good!

It was light and entertaining but felt it was repetitive and unoriginal.

The characters were weak especially the man character and her relationship with the boyfriend was not believable.

Also the relationship of the 4 women wasn't believable either. I could say more but don't want to give out spoilers. I enjoyed reading it and it gives plenty to discuss in my own book club but I personally wouldn't recommend it.

In a lot of ways, this book is what you’d expect. A bunch of strangers becoming friends, dealing with love, lust, and heartache all the while. In that way, I found the book boring. But hidden under its surface is something deeper…that never gets explored. This book could be the West Coast Sex and the City if it didn’t feel so blah. There could have been great storylines about abortions, affairs, female pleasure, and more, but, alas, we get none of that. Just a boring story without depth.

I was champing at the bit (read the book and you'll know why I said that) for this book since I first saw it on Goodreads years ago. I was incredibly intrigued by one of my favorite authors from when I was younger writing something that sounded completely opposite. I laughed a lot at the antics of this friend group, especially the scene in the hotel room. I loved the connections to the original DBC and how they chose these girls. Just a really enjoyable book for me! So glad I didn't wait to read it.

The last books I've read hasn't been the most inspiring books so I decided I needed something light and hopefully fun. This certainly fulfilled my wishes! I actually laughed out loud several times

The Dirty Book Club by Lisi Harrison was so cute! I loved the premise of these young women living out the plans made by their elderly relatives. I'm also partial to a good book club! I loved how the storylines transcended decades, and what had happened in the past was mirroring present day life. The characters were likable, and I audibly laughed out loud on a few occasions. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
