Seriously, it's sad that anything to do with the Dreaming or the characters who live in it is going to be compared to the original Sandman series. It's not fair and will inevitably make the work incapable of being judged on its own merit.

I've never read The Sandman Universe and this series tries to expand the universe I'm even more intrigued to what happened before this. Also, the art style and coloring isss soooo amazing. I find myself gawking at the genius artist for coming up with these gems!
