It was definitely silly, like why did Rachel get amnesia lol what was the point of that? It was pretty fun though plus we get Ax's pov for the first time

Nice to get a multi-PoV Animorphs book. They certainly try to take a break from the war, but as everyone knows, you can never escape war. (Also, you can't cure memory loss from a traumatic brain injury with another traumatic brain injury...)

Spoiler**CONTAINS SPOILERS if you haven't read books 1-7 or this one **

This felt like I had just watched 7 episodes and them this as the season finale (why isn't that a thing??). This would really make an explosive ending to a season.

The Animorphs are suddenly up against a very strange thing. It looks like a windy dust ball with spikes and sharp spinning wheels (which looked very disturbing in my head). Eventually, the protagonists figure out that the thing is attracted to morphing energy.

It's called a Veleek, and it is Visser Three's next weapon against them. The Visser still thinks the Animorphs are actually Andalites (despite the drama in book 5) and is trying to catch them and keep them u til they are forced to de-morph (A morph can only last two hours or you get stuck in the morph: ie: Tobias.

Simultaneously, Rachel loses her memory and can't remember herself, others, or the Alien invasion happening on her planet. So while the others are trying to figure out an attack plan or retaliatory strike, she's trying to navigate through with the only knowledge she has: that she is human and somehow has the ability to become other creatures.

In a way, this "season finale" (hint, hint Netflix!!) Is less complicated in its story telling than some of the previous books. It is, however, far more intense and climactic and makes a great continuation and addition to the series. I'm gonna give this one 5 stars. It would've made an epic season finale (yo, Netflix!! Start filming an episode per book!).

What's interesting is that this is the first book in this series that alternates from one character's perspective to another. This can be very difficult for an author to pull off so she gets a star this successfully pulling it off.
This series just gets better and better. [= Please don't spoil anything for me.
