Una lectura que no fue para mi, bastante entretenida pero olvidable ya que no me dejó nada en especial para recordar.
La historia es bastante sencilla y presenta a una protagonista que tiene el deseo de viajar por muchos lugares, creo que la parte más floja es el contexto porque si se hubiera mostrado a una protagonista con ganas de conocer culturas y de tener aventuras hubiera sido una experiencia muy diferente. Pero se enfoco más que todo en la cantidad, y bueno no entiendo porqué darle más importancia a la cantidad de lugares, sobreponerlo por encima de cosas más importantes, cómo es la experiencia del viaje y de con quién se realiza este viaje.
Este libro no fue una grata experiencia para mí porque aún sacando el instalove, no me convencieron los viajes en el tiempo, entiendo que sea en parte ciencia ficción y eso. Pero se presentó de una manera que no me llama la atención para leer sobre él, pienso que este libro me termina de confirmar que no lo disfruto.
El final es claro que es abierto por el segundo libro pero no pienso perder mi tiempo con algo que ni me genera interés, ni llama mi atención.

La historia es narrada desde dos perspectivas: la de la protagonista (cuyo nombre ya olvidé) y de Bennet (cuya percepción es bastante escasa). Sopesando ahora la trama es poco memorable, una protagonista egoísta cuya ambición solo se ve en ciertos capítulos cuando está corriendo durante las mañanas, y los cambios en la línea de tiempo no tienen consecuencias a la medida, ya que todo se resuelve demasiado fácil.

Con respecto a estos viajes en el tiempo la protagonista lo acepta como si fuera una verdad absoluta, no entra ni en estado de shock o duda por mucho tiempo, es demasiado fácil la manera en que lo acepta y ya... Ahora una situación que me hizo mucho ruido es la ligereza con que se toman esto, no llega a suceder nada en consecuencia a las acciones de los protagonistas más que pasar un par de páginas separados.
El tiempo no es un tema fácil de tratar pero no me gustó cómo se trató en esta historia. Además las decisiones en la vida debe desembocar en un futuro incierto, ahí es donde está la situación interesante, eso de que el futuro puede cambiar por enviarse una carta y enterarse de que una decisión puede cambiar el rumbo de la vida no es tan a la ligera como queda marcado en esta historia.
Ahora bien el romance es instantáneo y no da ni un respiro para unir los caminos de ambos personaje, hay una que otra situación forzada ya que de cada rato se sujeta a esto del viaje en el tiempo para presentar circunstancias que unan a los personajes. Pero no hacen ninguna diferencia, ya que los personajes sin esas circunstancias igual están conectados porque la trama es conveniente.
Los dos temas principales no me convencieron ni el romance, ni los viajes en el tiempo. Hasta las interacciones con Bennet llegan a volverse feas, ya que la protagonista solo lo usa para viajar o para cambiar un acontecimiento que pudo cambiar la vida de su amiga Emma. Con esto se muestra aún más egoísta porque sin tener ninguna autoridad básicamente le ordena a Bennet a que lo haga, esto se me hizo feo porque en vez de estar con la persona, solo por compartir con él, está con él por lo que le puede dar.
Lo único que puedo salvar son las pocas escapadas a Tailandia y a Italia, solo por las descripciones del lugar.

La protagonista es una egoísta, me desencajo en varias situaciones que peleará por no saber toda la información concerniente a ella y a Bennet. Mientras sin tomar en cuenta empujó a Bennet a hacer un cambio considerable en el accidente de tránsito de su amiga Emma, que provocó que esta dejara de conectar con su pareja y mantuviera su actitud temeraria al conducir (además suceden unas circunstancias con el dichoso novio de Emma que son bastante cuestionables).
Es un personaje demasiado plano, en el sentido que dando tanto contexto familiar, ella se muestra vacía ante esto, no le importa que sus padres hagan todo lo posible por pagarle una escuela cara, no se muestra agradecida solo molesta y triste por no tener un mapa marcado...
Bennet se muestra muy plano y cumple con el papel de manic pixie dream boy. Solo está allí para corresponder a todo lo que le diga la protagonista, para simular una evolución de ella y demostrar que puede tomar decisiones, ella puede decidir irse de su casa solo porque él ya no está.. El dice respetar reglas y normas de los viajes pero no las sigue, ya que se convence demasiado rápido por influencia de la protagonista

This book kept me up at night! I could never bring myself to put it down... obviously this means great success for the author, but it means a tired stressful week at work for me...
Time Between Us is such a beautiful love story! It was well written, and the plot was captivating. The characters were realistic and easy to relate to, I particularly liked Emma, Anna's best friend (she reminded me a lot of my own best friend).
There was just enough time travel without being terribly confusing, and the romance that was built up between Anna and Bennet was simply heart melting.
A beautiful well told story, I recommend it to everyone :)

Ticket stubs, postcards and red pins on the map. Anna Greene dreams of travelling the world and yearns to be somewhere else other than Evanston, Illinois. So when she meets Bennett, who can travel to anywhere at all (and he is genuinely a good guy too), things became surreal and amazing. That is, until she finds out he is actually from the future, and the fact that they are in a relationship that defies the time-space continuum spells doom. Yet, this is not some tragic love story ala My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares. It is sweet, tender and moving, and the issues of Anna and Bennett's relationship is what other couples might face at the end of the day anyway - being overprotective and hiding things from each other. It is their forgiving nature that makes this a pleasant read.

This was a beautiful book. Eloquent, emotional language and a super-charged romance. I like the mystery surrounding it--how you never know why Bennett is the way that he is. I thought the character development was good and I just loved Anna. A great romance with a unique, intriguing twist.

Tamara recommended this to me a couple days ago because she knows how much I adore Little Do We Know and also knows my music taste so suggested I try this out and I’m so glad I did!
I truly, truly love Tamara’s writing style, it’s so beautiful and it feels so warm and inviting, like I’m right there with these characters experiencing what they’re experiencing. I also love, love, love, love her characters so much! I loved Hannah and Emery and Josh in LDWK and in this, I just adored Bennett and Anna and their relationship. I loved how much development we got to see with the two of them over the course of the book and seeing how this huge secret of Bennett effected Anna!
Also, travelling in time to see your favourite bands is definitely something that I would do and is a very good reason to want to travel through time honestly😂

*Aufmachung/Qualität*
Da ich ein Vorableseexemplar habe, kann ich nicht viel zur Aufmachung der späteren Verkaufsexemplares sagen. Ich weiß allerdings von der Verlagsseite, dass es ein Hardcover mit Schutzumschlag sein wird. Das Cover finde ich sehr verträumt romantisch was gut zur Geschichte passt. Leider passen die abgebildeten Menschen wieder nicht ganz zu den Charakteren, wie sie im Text beschrieben werden.
*Meinung:*
Ich hatte erst Schwierigkeiten in die Geschichte hineinzukommen. Es passierte lange Zeit nichts und das machte es etwas langweilig. Etwa ab Kapitel 10 wurde es dann aber interessanter und ab der Hälfte des Buches hatte mich die Handlung dann richtig gepackt.
Die Grundhandlung besteht hauptsächlich aus der Liebesgeschichte zwischen Anna (16) und Bennett, dessen Alter ihr dann im Laufe der Geschichte mitbekommt. Neben der Liebe spielen Familie und Freundschaft eine große Rolle. Beides Themen die mich in Büchern sehr ansprechen und hier auch schön vermittelt wurden. Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt der Geschichte ist das Zeitreisen und Teleportieren. Wo ich von letzterem ein großer Fan bin, habe ich mit dem Zeitreisen oft ein Problem. Teleportieren ist unkompliziert und kann daher ohne große Verwirrung oder Komplikationen in eine Geschichte eingebaut werden. Das Zeitreisen dagegen ist extrem komplex und es gibt kaum ein Buch bei dem ich das Gefühl habe das Konzept stimmt 100% und ist somit in sich stimmig. Auch hier war ich oft am Überlegen, ob dass alles so stimmen kann. Ganz bin ich nicht überzeugt, aber das störte mich nur gering. Richtig gut fand ich die relative große Thematisierung des Butterfly-Effekts. Bennett geht relativ erwachsen und besonnen mit seiner Gabe um. Er weiß sehr wohl was ein Eingriff in die Vergangenheit alles lostreten kann. Das wird sehr gut beschrieben. Viele jugendbuch-typische Themen werden in die Handlung eingebaut - Schule, Freundschaft, Liebe, Familie, gesellschaftliche Stellung und Unterschiede. Die größten Themen sind aber wohl die Selbstfindung und die große Aufgabe Entscheidungen zu treffen ohne genau zu wissen, wie sie die Zukunft beeinflussen.
Der Schreibstil ist nicht wirklich mein Fall. Das liegt ganz einfach an der Zeitform. Das Ganze wird in der Gegenwart und aus der Ich-Perspektive von Anna geschrieben. Gerade ersteres bereitet mir immer etwas Unbehagen beim Lesen, aber das ist mein ganz persönliches Befinden und dafür gebe ich keinen Abzug. Ansonsten ist das ganze sehr ruhig, ausschmückend und stimmungsvoll geschrieben.
Auf Spannung ist das Buch nicht ausgelegt. Gerade das erste Drittel zog sich etwas und ich bin jemand der kaum Spannung in Büchern braucht. Wer ohne Spannung kein Buch genießen kann, braucht hier gar nicht erst anfangen. Es werde immer kleine Brocken an Information verteilt, die einen ködern sollen, aber im Großen und Ganzen ist ziemlich klar wie alles ablaufen wird. Es gibt daher keine großen Überraschungsmomente. Es gibt ein dramatische Situation, die aber für meinen Geschmack zu einfach gelöst wurde. Da hätte man mehr draus machen können, aber es wurde eben deutlich, dass das Buch hauptsächlich die Liebesgeschichte vermitteln wollte und sich nicht zu weit davon entfernt werden sollte. Irgendwie fehlte hier der entscheidende Kick und daher gab es von mir den Punktabzug.

Daher betrachtete ich die Geschichte eher als Außenstehender als dass ich das Gefühl gehabt hätte sie mitzuerleben. Aber auch das ist mal ganz schön. Bennett dagegen war mir sehr sympathisch. Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass er vernünftiger agierte. Ich bin ja bereits deutlich aus dem Jugendalter herausgewachsen und da stehen mir die etwas besonnener agierenden Charaktere näher. Jugendliche werden sich aber sicher mit Anna gut identifizieren können. Die Nebencharaktere sind die Freunde von Anna und ihre Familie. Außerdem erwähnenswert ist noch ein Lehrer und jemand aus Bennetts Umfeld. Aber das lest selbst. Grundsätzlich kann man sagen, dass die Nebencharaktere ein überschaubares Grüppchen aus individuellen und interessanten Personen bilden.
Die Liebesgeschichte wird langsam und ruhig entwickelt. Mich als Erwachsenen konnte die Liebesgeschichte nicht vom Hocker reißen, aber ich denke das Jugendliche sehr von den beiden angetan sein werden. Alles wird sehr romantisch geschildert, aber auch mit den für Jugendlichen typischen kleinen Dramen. Jugendgefährdendes passiert hier nicht. Alles geht sehr keusch zu und bis auf küssen passiert hier nichts offensichtliches.
Das Ende ist dann nochmal etwas spannend, aber leider auch etwas verwirrend. Alles in allem ist es aber gut abgerundet.

Dies ist ein sehr ruhiges Buch mit einer schönen Liebesgeschichte. Das Zeitreisen wird nicht ganz so kompliziert wie in ähnlich Büchern beschrieben, aber ganz stimmig fand ich es auch wieder nicht. Trotzdem war es wirklich gut mit der Liebesgeschichte verknüpft. Vor allem das Thema der Selbstfindung und der Entscheidungsfindung wurde gut umgesetzt. Diese Buch ist ein Must-Read für Freunde der ruhigen Liebesgeschichte und des Zeitreisens.

Dies ist ein sehr ruhiges Buch mit einer schönen Liebesgeschichte. Das Zeitreisen wird nicht ganz so kompliziert wie in ähnlich Büchern beschrieben, aber ganz stimmig fand ich es auch wieder nicht. Trotzdem war es wirklich gut mit der Liebesgeschichte verknüpft. Vor allem das Thema der Selbstfindung und der Entscheidungsfindung wurde gut umgesetzt. Diese Buch ist ein Must-Read für Freunde der ruhigen Liebesgeschichte und des Zeitreisens.

Anna is living in Chicago in 1995 when she meets a boy named Bennett. Bennett is from the year 2012 but has the ability to time travel. They were never supposed to meet, but now that they have their lives change forever.
I'm not 100% sure how to feel about this book, it was just average in my opinion. The characters were relateable, but I didn't really care about what happened to any of them. Honestly, I would rather have had Emma, Anna's best friend as the main character. She was funny and spunky and I just liked her a whole lot better than Anna. The story line was cute, but ultimately unmemorable to me. I didn't feel much for the romance and hated the insta love. The first half of the book was pretty boring, but it got better as it went on.
Overall, just completely average for me.

Loved this book.
I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as i did, but i'm glad i read it.
One of the most interesting things is the convoluted time stream. A lot of little things happen that are not part of a linear timeline. I won't say what, but it's fun to figure out what they are when reading.
I liked that she learned a lesson that you can live a full life without someone despite how much it hurts. A lot of books make the girls in them so un-selfsufficient and unable to act without a boy/man it kind of makes me sick. To get through something and be stronger for it is a much better lesson.
I liked both Bennent and Anna. They were human and not perfect. They had their stupid moments like all of us have. Blaming someone even though it wasn't their fault and lying by omission even though it's for someone's own good despite the fact that it hurts them in the end. Those types of moments made the mcs real for me.
There were a few moments that made me want to smack them upside the head because they were really being stupid to the point of idiocy, and those moments made me close the book before I got too frustrated.
All in all, a great book, and one i would recommend.
