Amelia seemed to have a decent life growing up with her loving parents. So, it’s no surprise that she flipped a little when she discovered that her dad was having an affair. She had considered ratting on her dad but then had a change of heart and decided to take matters into her own hands. Amelia is going to send this little homewrecker a message and hopes that will be enough to make her stay away from her dad. Except things aren’t that simple.

Amelia and her two best friends, Cassie and Folline, set off to the house where the homewrecker stays. They do a little vandalism outside and then decide to head inside to bring more destruction. Once they are inside the house, some horrors are uncovered they weren’t expecting and, as the reader, I didn’t see this coming either. Newman threw several twists into this story that caught me off guard. This story had some intense moments, and I couldn’t wait to see how the rest was going to play out.

Overall, I thought this was an exciting read. The characters were enjoyable and the situations they face pull the reader right into the darkness with the girls. The dread is real. If you want a short but gripping revenge story, check this one out!

"These two, they aren't even human. They're something else, wearing people skin. They are the sharks. And our fear is the blood in the water."

Xtreme horror novella softened somewhat by wisecracks. Lots of pop culture and product references. I liked it and would read more from this author.

This sure is a fun one!!!
Im not so old that I don't remember the teen days of toilet paper and spray paint against people we didn't like.
In this case, it's a cheating dad's new lover.
What's the harm in throwing toilet paper in trees and sugar in a gas tank? Well, other than morals, but teens will be teens. These teens bit off more than they could chew

What would you did if you found out your dad was having an affair?

Well Amelia Fletcher seems to have the perfect plan. Feeling sorry for her mother who is otherwise unaware, she knows exactly what she's going to do. Along with her two besties, Cassie and Folline, and her father's 'borrowed' car, they set out on a journey to send a message to the mistress.

Amelia, Cassie and Folline's friendship was a highlight of this story for me. I don't want to go into too much of what happens but I loved their bond and how individual they all were. Even though I had a feeling the plot would progress darkly, it still managed to make me extremely tense reading it.

This was a quick read for me. I finished it a sitting. I always rate Newman's books highly because they're so well written. This one is no different!

Some good old fashioned down and dirty non supernatural horror fun. Well, my idea of fun may differ from yours, but this was just what I was in the mood for. Newman delivers like always.

Three friends plan an a vandalism attack on a woman’s house. This woman is having an affair with one of the girls father. They want to scare the woman and make her disappear from his life.
You know something is going to go wrong, but how bad could it get? Do yourself a favor and never ask that question because Ride Or Die has the answer to just how bad it can get.
Great narration on the audiobook.

Ride or Die is the story of three teenage girls seeking revenge on their father’s mistress. They drive to her house one night to “scare her off”, but it turns out quite scary for them in the end.

Once in a while a book comes along that is neither a good nor a bad read. The story seems fine, but it’s also missing substance. That’s how I felt about Ride or Die. It didn’t feel quite fleshed out enough. I’m torn about my feelings for it, which is why I will rate it right in the middle.

Thanks to the publisher for the review copy.

Struggled on what to rate this because some parts were positives, but ultimately the bad outweighs the good for me with this one. I really wanted to like this one the premise seemed promising, but the execution just wasn’t there. The dialogue and inner monologue felt very weird an unnatural to me it seemed very unlike a teenager/young woman, and there were so many abbreviations no one seriously uses that many especially not when speaking aloud to someone. It had the “I don’t listen to the band on my tshirt” girl stereotype which made me audibly groan; it just really felt like it wasn’t written from a teenager girl’s perspective. About 50 percent of the way through it got better, but still wasn’t great. The execution just wasn’t there because whatever the author was going for didn’t come across. This book has small sketches and an ‘evidence archive’ style timeline of text exchanges throughout and I love when books do this because it adds an authenticity, or realism to the story. Ultimately this came off as maybe a failed slasher, or splatter punk style story? It really just didn’t work for me which was disappointing because I wanted it to.
