Luke's writing style and tone are very engaging. Most of the subjects are just touched on in a way that is a good introduction. Some of the extrapolations are quite funny and interesting but go far beyond the citations. On the cost-benefit between narrative and informative this skews towards narrative, which keeps it from being a piece of dry sci-comm but it is a difficult balancing act.

Not a bad read for anyone interested in how science looks for the answers but lacking in depth. Each chapter looks at a different topic and references several scientific studies but very little in depth analysis of why these studies can be trusted or not. An easy read and no need for much scientific knowledge to understand the concepts but will you be any the wiser afterwards, probably not.
