4🌶️  well well I was not expecting Luca and Valentina to snatch my that quick. But I loved this story. Luca was so gone for Valentina and I loved how fast he folded once he finally realized. He never missed an opportunity to call Valentina his wife or flaunt that she was his in front of anyone that threatened him. And my goodness Luca the naughty MMC he was all over Valentina and tbh with her hesitation of love that's something she needed. I enjoyed that they had such solid foundation from their working relationship it was so believable that they would transition to a not so fake marriage 😂 I liked that we got a glimpse of grandma bringing down the hammer when the stipulations of the marriages weren't met. I think it was a wonderful thing for our two lovebirds. This was a joy of a read for sure can't wait for the rest of the Windsor's stories!

Summary
Luca and Valentina have worked side-by-side for years in a strictly professional sense. But when Luca needs to be rescued from his arranged engagement and Val needs help with her grandma's medical needs, they elope. Their marriage is meant to only last 3 years, which works fine for them since they've been disillusioned by love in the past. But 3 years is a long time to live in close quarters together...

Thoughts
I honestly really love these two together because they're so similar, but somehow heal each other's hurts. I love that Val stands up for what she needs and Luca gives her things she didn't even know she needed. I just loved the way their relationship advanced and how they both were so in love, but didn't realize it. To have someone that will standup for you and put you above all else is what movies are made of, but their relationship felt so real. It was inspiring, honestly.

CEO & Executive Assistant/CFO, workplace romance
Possessive, jealous, interfering exes
Marriage of convenience, friends with benefits
Scheming grandma

Yay! Okay, so I guess I really didn't need to read book 1 to read this one. This book was definitely more my style than the first book.

We get two headstrong individuals who are also both filled with insecurities from past relationships...who end up falling for each other. What starts out as more or less enemies to lovers switches to reluctant allies in a fauxmance to romance.

I absolutely LOVE romance novels that have meddling/matchmaking grandparents...there's just something about them that just takes a romance to an entirely different level.

I'm even more excited to jump into book 3 and see how their romance unfolds!

"You drive me truly, utterly, entirely, mad," he whispers, his forehead pressed against mine.
