In this first novel to the Disc World series, Pratchett introduces his vast and quirky world, a world of magic unlike any other, a world which isn't a sphere, a world where magic has great limits and is part of the color spectrum, which causes strange things. The story follows the wizard Rincewood as he gets dragged into adventures by a curious and naive and wealthy tourist named Twoflower whose luggage follows him on legs. What could go wrong?
On the one hand, it's a strange and ridiculous world. At times it seems that Pratchett just writes things because he can. On the other hand, the story ends up actually making some sense as Pratchett brings most of the random pieces together in the end. There is a lot of humor thrown in, which is great. It's a fun book and a great read. I enjoyed this book and theres a good chance I will end up slowly making my way through the rest of the Disc World series.

It's interesting and I'll finish it eventually but there's so many other draws on my time and attention right now I keep ignoring it in favor of something else.
