A beautiful set of essays from the 60's. In particular the keystone essay "The little virtues" is one for every parent and educator to ponder. What values do we pass down to our children consciously and unconsciously and what impact do they have on the people they become?

A collection of informal style essays that cover a range of topics. For me, the most enjoyable were the first three (Winter in The Abruzzi, Worn-Out Shoes and Portrait of A Friend). These stories, cause really that's what they are, are sad, reflective, and do a great job in exposing the horrors of social class and fascism, without throwing it in your face.
Less successful were the London set essays. I don't know why, they just didn't work with me.
I'm on a roll with Natalia Ginzburg at the moment, and am looking forward reading more of her work.

Molto interessante, questo insieme di brevi saggi. Mi pento solo di averlo ascoltato invece che letto : è il tipo di libro che si appresta più ad una lettura calma, durante la quale puoi soffermarti su particolari frasi o idee.
