Lost in Babylon is a thrilling sequel to Colossus Rising, continuing the adventures of the four heroes as they embark on a dangerous journey to ancient Babylon. The story picks up where the previous book left off, with the characters facing the urgent need to find a cure for their G7W affliction.
The introduction of time travel adds a new dimension to the series, allowing for exciting and unexpected plot twists. The characters' interactions with Dariah, a knowledgeable guide, and the opposing forces seeking to obtain the loculi create a sense of urgency and danger.
The exploration of trust and loyalty is a central theme, as the characters question the motives of those around them. Jack's search for his unique talent adds a layer of personal intrigue to the story.
With its fast-paced action, intriguing characters, and unexpected twists, Lost in Babylon is a captivating read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The cliffhanger ending will leave readers eager for the next installment in the series.

This didn't do anything for me either. I wasn't a fan of the first book either, I think the series lost me at this point. I got in all neat in a box, so I will give all the books a chance, but I just cannot see that this will work for me. It is a shame because I really wanted to like them.

They went to the Hanging Gardens In Babylon and this is one of the Seven World Wonders I like the most, if not even my favourite one. But even that didn't really do anything for me.

It was fast-faced, but since I wasn't really interested, it just dragged. It is for sure nice for kids to make them interested in historical and mythological things, but beyond that I didn't get any entertainment from it. The character development with their abilities was uninteresting to me, and the plot was just a wave washing over.

Some of the stuff seems rather stereotypical, and the plot was overall too predictable for my taste, while I thought some of the Riddles might be too hard for the actual target audience. And of course, a cliffhanger ending, which can be fun, but it falls flat here. I don't really feel the need to continue because the story never got me in the first place.

It's been years since I read the first book in this series, so I forgot a lot. However, it was fairly easy to get back in to after reading the synopsis and my review of the first book. I was too old for the 39 clues books, so I never read those, but you can definitely see the mystery aspect in this book.
I have no idea who to trust, but like Jack I am more inclined to trust the KI than the Massa or however it's spelled. Marco is the worst. I know he's 13 and nobody makes good decisions at that age, but it's the lying and manipulation for me. Jack thinks about others and how his decisions will impact them, but Marco is so selfish. I really do not like that kid. And then, Jack spent YEARS thinking his mom was dead just to find out that she is running the organization that we don't trust? Talk about betrayal.
This was a strong second book and has me intrigued enough that I will probably not wait years before reading book 3.

Este livro é um dos meus favoritos, pois faz-me sentir como se estivesse a viver as mesmas aventuras que as personagens principais estão a viver.

This one was so much better in the first!
Everything really fits in. Especially with Marco.
He was so frustrating and I was disappointed.
I love Daria! She was such a help and so sweet and smart.
I love when they are in Babylon
And wow. Plot twist.

I enjoyed this more than the first book. I think now we’re getting more into the weeds of the world and deeper into what these kids’ powers look like so it’s fun to see them figure that out. Marco was obvious from the first book but the final twist was not for a while.

I LOVED IT! Peter Lerangis' amazing writing skills have struck again with this amazing story of adventure, mystery, and friendship! The only problem was that at some parts the scientific explanations got a bit confusing...

This one was a bit more interesting than its predecessor, having a time bubble to deal with as well as their missing companion.
But despite all of the fantastic elements, the characters still feel a little stock. If it wasn't for the overall Atlantis storyline I want to see resolved, not sure I would continue reading.
