The illustrations in this are so stunning, wow! A lot of interesting essays, poems, and texts in this book, even if at times a little too drawn out. The main reason I struggled to read this book, however, was the illustrated text. A lot was incredibly hard to read, leaving me to stare for ages to decipher what was being said. Still, a powerful and gorgeous work!

The title is a bit misleading as I wouldn't describe this book as an "oral history". That said, I thoroughly enjoyed reading these interviews and reflections and adored the illustrations.
Sadly I often found the text difficult to read due to formatting (font, layout, color choices) which drew my focus and energy away from the content.
