A candid review of Jeanette's life with her abusive narcissistic mother and her life as a child actor. My kids loved icarly and Sam and Cat, but it saddens me at the cost it was for Jennette, and I'm sure other child actors and how they suffered for our entertainment.  The book should come with trigger warnings. It is billed as a funny memoir, but whilst there were moments of light relief, a woman's struggle to acceptance and healing is not remotely funny. Jennette writes wonderfully, and I wish her further success in overcoming her addictions and eating disorders. A hard but worth while read. I'm glad her mom died so she could start her healing journey.

too much pain. It's well written and the audio compellingly recorded, but the trauma got too heavy for me.
