Not my favourite Blyton but still fun to share with my 6yo.

Había leído este libro cuando era pequeña, volverlo a encontrar fue un viaje al pasado.
Es probable que le este dando mucha puntuación por la nostalgia, pero definitivamente, fue un placer releerlo nuevamente.

This was one of my favourite book series as a child so when I saw on a weekend away in a vintage store I treated myself and read over the relaxing trip.

I was glad whilst I remembered the premise I didn’t remember all the finer details but elements did come flooding back so was great nostalgia.

There was a section quite dark but as an adult I am aware that is typical of Enid Blyton writing.

I will definitely be seeking out the other books soon.

Read this to my children over the weekend; expected them to find it a little dull having read a lot of David Walliams recently but they loved it and have asked for the sequel... children never fail to amaze me!

I think reading this as an adult probably didn’t help my view of it. I just thought that the children in the school were cruel and bullying... not sure if this is how schools ran back in the day and I know she began to laugh at her nickname, but the whole ‘call her a baby until she conforms’ didn’t sit right with me. Also, joan’s mother... WTH?!?
