I wanted to like this book so much but I couldn’t.
The author has given a raw account of her experiences and I enjoyed her perspective sections after each therapy sessions. However, I didn’t like the use of transcripts for many reasons. Firstly, it felt too personal and invasive for me to be reading someone’s therapy session as though I was overhearing some private conversations . Next It was monotonous to read transcripts after 2-3 sessions. I also found her psychiatrist’s response vague and questionable at times. I didn’t enjoy the book in general and it is probably not for me.

I was drawn to the title of this book, and was quite happy to follow along on the author's therapy sessions in the form of transcripts. I found myself relating quite a bit to a few of the conversations they had, but coming up to the end, I felt like it had amounted to nothing. Perhaps that it is how life is, a never-ending journey of self discovery, but it's probably not what I expected in a book in the Self-Help section. Overall an easy read with a disappointing end.
