Unfortunately I can't give it three stars and a half.
Like mdzs before, this novel has many ups and downs, sometimes beautiful sometimes boring to death.
I really liked the concepts behind all the arcs, but I feel the author needs to take care of the narration flow, since it changes abruptly along with the moods (tragic and comic alternate each other in a very confusing way).
I feel like the ideas are really good but needs to be written down in a more effective way.
This as the previous mxtx novel kept me company during exams' period so I will forever be grateful to have them with me in these tiresome times.

Definitely a little too long and the plot is super, super, super draggy at points. But Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's relationship development was a joy to read, as well as the dynamic between Xie Lian and the common people - and his friends.

I am crazy but I am fucking free!!!

This book was a journey, I was fighting for my life, I was predicting multiple plot points, my Kobo reader needed to be charged- TWICE, and here I am, after multiple years and attempts to read it (sorry to my friends it took me so long).

The book is long enough, so I won't spend much more time on it, so here are some brief points:
- Xie Lian. God!! One of the characters of all time? Definitely. I love a protagonist who is committed to being good - even when its a so hard and something he struggles with.

- Hua Cheng - CRINGE MASTER 8000 (affectionate)

- The romance - sorry for being obsessed with loyalty, but god did Xie Lian and Hua Cheng perfectly understand believing in each other when there was nothing else to believe in!!

- Story/writing overall - It works for the format (webnovel) but god I wish it was cut down a bit and more direct, but at the same time wishing there was some more development on some side characters after their arcs (mostly thinking about the wind master's plot). Still, heavily enjoyed the story, it was fun to predict things while still being surprised by the turns the story took too.
