This was such a disapointment for me! I was SO excited for this one because it's a Swan Lake retelling (The Swan Princess is my FAAAAAVORITE) and because of that gorgeous cover! But....there were no similarities to Swan Lake??? The literal only thing was that Evelayn's supposed shape-shifting form is a swan (supposed because she never actually finds out how to shape-shift). Besides THAT huge disappointment, every single obstacle was overcome so easily. This is how I would sum up the book: "Man, this obstacle is going to be hard! Oh wait, that was easy! This next obstacle, though, is really going to be near impossible. Awesome, we did it perfectly! But this last one, well the fate of the kingdom rests on this, and I'm not powerful enough to succeed! JK, our plan worked perfectly, without a hitch!" Also, did not care for the romance. It was pretty insta-lovey and I just wasn't ever convinced. It was written perfectly fine, but it just fell flat in so many ways. So disappointed ðŸ˜
