Typical Frankie Boyle humour; if you've ever heard him speak you will read this entirely with his voice in your head. Best quote is right at the end. It may at first seem distinctly unlike him, but really it's just a peak behind the curtain: "...despair is really a failure of perspective. Despair is a moment that pretends to be permanent."

maybe would have been better as a podcast so could actually hear Frankie reading this, don't think the humour comes across as well in print

Superb

If you've ever wanted to read a one- hour monologue from Boyle's show New World Order, this book (essay, really) is for you.

An essay on the state of the UK's politics - it's filled Frankie Boyle's typical dark and cutting humour. It's matter-of-a-fact and direct, serving deserved criticisms.

Professor Max Saunders writes in the afterword, 'if we're not only to survive these [apocalyptic scenarios] but also to thrive, we need to think beyond them as well as about them' - and I think that's what Frankie Boyle fails to do.

Some funny jokes though
