Ugh. Love me a high school sports contemporary romance book! I adored Liv and her relationship with her family, her relationship with her brother and his best friend, her relationship with Addie, her best friend, and her relationship with the teams and coaches. I have mixed mixed feelings about Grey, but the story with the sports and Addie's relationship with one of the football players and Tobas & Lily, make up for that. Bahaha. Though I agree that what Stacey says to Liv about her sister was straight up disturbing and heartless, I cannot agree with homosexuality being normalized in this book, because of the word of the Lord. Because family and friendship was at the fore front and because Stacey's insult was judgemental and mean for almost any human(except the ones who do commit that crime), I could still enjoy this book.

Warning: cursing, normalized homosexuality

I was torn between 2 and 3 stars, but the ending was so abrupt and such an odd place to end that I rounded down. Some major, life-changing obstacles set up just in time for HEA?

I think coming to terms with their respective obstacles (him with driving stuff and her with expressing anger through violence) would be much more interesting to have read about than some of the conflicts actually used in the story (some of which feel a little forced).

Well paced and writing quality is good. Characters aren't cliched, a trap which many books of this demographic fall into.

Despite not being at all familiar with American football, this book was enjoyable because of all the football jargon. I appreciated the pacing and the different characters.

This was an entertaining, albeit fairly run of the mill, YA love /coming of age story. I did like the somewhat original premise of a tough girl protagonist who plays on the boys football team. Parts of the story felt a little disjointed, but I enjoyed it overall.

I am so glad that I picked up this book when I did. Needless to say, I found it to be magical as well as sports authentic. Liv’s family is supportive but tough and Grey is a phenomenal guy. I didn't feel like their relationship imploded in an attempt to bring drama to the story but that also maybe because I couldn't put this book down. I cannot wait to read some more from this author.
