The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory

I seriously cannot resist a good enemies-to-lovers story. Especially when the two involved in said trope share a mutual best friend and are constantly thrown together over a series of months in order to plan said friend’s wedding.

But things quickly change for enemies Maddie and Theo when their mutual hatred turns into a mutual attraction. Keeping things casual as they indulge, they agree to end everything by the wedding. But the longer it goes on, the harder it is to pull away.

This was such a fun read. Theo and Maddie have fantastic banter and on top of the enemies-to-lovers trope, you also get the secret romance… Can’t go wrong with this one!

Another fun romance in the Wedding Date series! I love the audio narrator who does the whole series. I didn't like the story quite as much as the first two, but it was a thoroughly steamy and satisfying read.

I loved this book! The story and characters are so sweet and fun. I wish I could read (or watch) more of Maddie as a stylist--for her usual clients and
Spoilerfor her pro bono work-related clients
. And reading this book made me really want to go back and reread its predecessors to enjoy those characters again!

In all honesty, I wasn't sure about Theo at first, but he won me over by the end. There's just so much about Maddie that I love that I guess I was hard on Theo at the beginning. And yet, I'm such a dork, I don't know why I didn't connect with him better.

I can't decide whether I should add this to my "fav-romance" list. I think I preferred The Wedding Date and The Proposal but I didn't put either on the list ... gosh, I have some reassessing to do! I think the fav list is saved for rereads ... maybe only books that I've reread make that list. So, if I find myself rereading this book, I'll add it there! (Though, I'm not sure that my other fav lists have that same criterion ... I think others are ones I intend to reread? Again, must reassess!)

I'm so excited to read the next book in the collection about Vivian!! I might have to rearrange my reading plan to bump it up. (I just checked out the ebook of If I Never Met You.)

I really liked this book. Although not quite as magical as The Wedding Date, this love story really stood its own. I liked how Guillory built out minor characters from The Wedding Date and made their personalities and character arcs just as compelling and multi-layered as Alexa's and Drew's, and the way Maddie and Theo came together felt realistic and enchanting. I also love how Guillory's storytelling feels rooted in the real world and the real issues people face, and she never sugarcoats things. All in all, a very pleasant read, and I'll be reading The Proposal and Party of Two as soon as I can get my hands on them.

Perfectly serviceable romance book. It kept breaking my illusion how often they referred to ordering pizza though, I lived for Berkeley/Oakland for four years and I doubt that would be the food of choice. But maybe JG has some secret fantastic pizza place, idk spill girl!

I've decided these books are total junk food for me. Lowkey trash, but I can't put them down.
