Really loved this, hoping that Paprika gets more happy/less thinking about bad things, especially now with that out in the open about her dad (who is a dick btw). Had a laugh at all her fantasies, oh my this girl! Shipping her and Dill a lot, I think they would make a perfect couple. So cute~ Wonderful art, as expected from the amazing Mirka Andolfo.

I started this last year and due to my inability to DNF books, I picked it up again in the hopes of skimming it to be done with the story.
I was hooked on Mirka Andolfo’s Unnatural series years ago which is why I picked this up to begin with.
Sadly this was not for me. The story was choppy and hard to follow (may be due to translation issues?) there were too many characters and way too much text. I had no idea what was going on at any point in time (and this was even when I slowed down to read and stopped skimming) it was only about the 80% mark that I really started to comprehend anything that was happening.
The character artwork was nice and facial expressions etc were easy to read but excessive.
I didn’t hate this per se, but I couldn’t find anything to recommend or enjoy.
Sadly I won’t be continuing on with this series.

I believe this e-copy was gifted to me by the publisher / Diamond Book Distributors. If so, thank you for the review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I stopped about 3/4 through. None of the characters were likable, everything was just one cliche after the other that are used as a crutch for a truly uninteresting story. There just didn't feel like there was any sort of progression from the first page, and the art was not given any room to breathe since there had to be a bit of dialogue or thoughts on every panel, so the whole thing felt so busy. There are also numerous fantasy sequences that come out of nowhere and go on for far too long and some of them just felt weird. This just felt like a pointless read, which is why I dropped it midway through.

Such a fun romp, beautiful and zany art style and a relateable underlying message.
