I always find Linsey Hall's books to be intriguing and enjoyable. Every now and then, one is particularly good, but I always know I'm going to enjoy the book. Some stand out more than others, but in general, they are fun quick reads.

Not bad but not great

Spoilers: It felt like a copy of the other books. I was hoping for something different. About halfway through it got better. I am still interested in the redt of the series. Wished the other friends were included more in this I want to know more about their friendships. I find the character relationship interesting just wish it wasn't always about a fated mate and some trouble. It's a good story line and I want to know more about Clair. But give us some meat to this story.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated

Great book! I love Claire, and so happy to see she got her own book after she's helped so much with the Firesouls and Dragon Gods. And I especially love that the guest appearances by the previous characters. It's like coming home, seeing a different perspective but still within the same comfortable world. I am beyond happy that I discovered Linsey Hall.

I didn't enjoy this one. I was not connected to the characters or their bond. I mean mates? No I was not feeling this kind of love with them. Caera and Iain...mh.
I finished it but then that cliffhanger almost had me throwing my phone.
*takes a deep breath**
Yes it the first time I'm reading about this author and yes I came to understand that these characters might have appeared in other books. Still, their story was not told in a way that I could connect with them.

2. 5 stars.
