This is definitely not my normal Siobhan Davis story type- but of course, I should have known it would be amazing, because SD can truly write anything. I’ve not dabbled into her sci-fi series before this one, but I was so intrigued by the blurb, and I was curious about what she would do in the genre. Truth be told, I’m not hugely into sci-fi, and my paranormal tastes are a bit limited- so this was far outside of my normal... I mean alien RH?! But I am hooked on this series!

Our heroine Tori exists in a world full of aliens superior beings, but until a chance encounter with an alien, she was just normal. WAS- because now Tori is changing in very unhuman like ways, and suddenly four new students seem to have some sort of inexplicable connection with her. Her very planned and predictable life suddenly becomes very complicated- lines are blurred, truths are opaque, but destiny is undeniable.

Again, I’m not a huge sci-person, but I felt like I was able to keep up with the intrigue and sci-fi cannon (Siobhan keeps stuff simple and understandable), and Siobhan keeps the romance front and center- tons of sexual tension and chemistry. And these characters are SO interesting and captivating - I can’t wait to spend more time with them and explore their connections further.

But what I loved most is that Siobhan somehow is still telling a relatable and complex coming of age story- alien or no, Tori is just like all of us when we were teens, trying to figure out who she is and what her role is in this vast universe we live in. Siobhan is so crafty at that- taking outlandish or unusual stories and finding ways to infuse the basics of the hallmarks of the human existence...even if in this case, our humans may be aliens.

I enjoyed this book! I can’t wait until the next one comes out. Tori is very likable and I enjoyed the guys much more as their personalities began to come out as the book progressed. I love sci fi books now that Siobhan has introduced me to her Saven and True Calling series. Every book she’s written is well thought out and believable. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

First, let me start off by saying that I am voluntarily reviewing complimentary Advance Readers Copy of this book. All of the thoughts and opinions that are expressed below are completely and totally %100 percent mine, and I have not been compensated in any way for this review.

Second:

I’m not normally a big fan of sci-fi/alien books, because they tend to keep my attention for a very before I move onto something else. There’s only one book series with alien characters that I’ve finished, and that’s the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout, because *SWOONS* But I still signed up to be an ARC reader because something was telling me that I should…

And boy am I ever so glad that I did.

This book jumps right into the action. Only a few pages in and our heroine is fighting off a bad guy to save not only herself, but her best friends as well.

It was nice watching Tori, and how hew character grew throughout the book. I feel like she handled all of the things that were thrown at her very well, and she stayed pretty composed, even when she had absolutely no idea what was going on.

I liked the guys, and their relationship with Tori (yes, even though Dane when he was being a jerk), although everything in me screamed in protest, because I didn’t like the way their bond made her so weak in the knees and dependent on the boys. But I liked how she tried to not let it stop her from telling them off when she didn’t like what they said/did. I also liked the way they were so supportive of her, and how they didn’t make her feel bad or rush her into anything that she wasn’t ready for.
And though this book is not all sex, drugs, and rock and roll, it’s definitely got its steamy moments, so even though the characters are 17 and in high school still, I would say that it’s definitely a NA book over YA. And that’s something that’s clearly stated when you read the summary, but this is me reiterating that, just because.

They (the boys) all had qualities that made me fall in love with them, but I think Beckett is my favorite (for the time being at least) or maybe Cooper... Hmmmmm. This is harder than I thought it would be.

I loved Tori’s relationship with her parents, and how supportive and caring they were. That’s hard to find sometimes in books, so I always appreciate the times when it’s able to be pulled off so well.

There were several plot twists that I didn't see coming, and holy moly that ending especially. I wasn't ready for it to end the way it did, and now I have to wait forever for the next one to come out *sad face*

All in all, this book had me sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and wondering what was going to happen next, and it also had me swooning from the sexylicious boys. This is definitely a book that I would recommend to fans of the Lux series, or fans of the Reverse Harem Genre in general.

I gave this book 4 stars because for a RH, it was refreshing to read about a heroine who wasn't abused. Even though she was adopted, she was raised by two loving parents.

I usually don't like YA and I did speed read through the high school BS, but for the most part, they behaved more like typical teens than I have been reading about lately.

I am hoping the next book does not have high school drama now that she knows who she really is.

I tried really hard to get into this book but for some reason I just couldn’t get into it. I have read a lot of RH but I just couldn’t get over certain things. Jensen, was the biggest problem for me. I can’t really put my finger on it but his character just bothered me.
Overall, good book. Would possibly continue reading series...

Wow. I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. It hooked me from the beginning and I fell in love with the characters. This is a upper Young Adult slash New Adult reverse harem sci fi novel. It's a slow burn tale of forbidden romance and the sacrifices that come with sudden responsibility. This is my first Siobhan Davis book, and there will be many more to come. This is right up there with my other favorite reverse harem series, The Veil Diaries and Seraph Black. Also a similar vibe to another (non-RH) favorite of mine, The Kricket Series by Amy Bartol. Highly recommended!

*I am voluntarily reviewing an advance, complimentary copy of this book.

This book was alright. I liked Tori, for the most part. Dane irritated me. I hated Jensen - he was controlling and really became an asshole. Kylie is a great friend. The plot was a bit meh, but did move along with events spaced okay. I mean, try it out. I'm a bit meh, but I'll check out book two.

Ok. I am going to preface this by saying that going into this book I wasn’t sure I was gonna like it. I’ve read very few alien romance that I liked. It wasn’t long before this author totally grabbed my attention. I liked how Tori and her boys had to come together to try and fight the enemy that is coming. I fully appreciated the fact that she didn’t just give over to them. There was a delicious push and pull between them. The angst of Beck and Dane who were so very different, but they both wanted her so much. Cooper and Maddox both were open to her in very different ways. This story drew me in, and before I knew it I was in love with all of them. I mean who doesn’t was 4 aliens protecting them, or a savior that could save all of us?

This story changed my mind on alien romance, and I am going to try and get my daughter hooked too. I believe she would love it too.
