I throughly enjoyed this. It's not a favorite, but I definitely didn't mind it. I thought the story and the concept of the book was pretty cool. I would totally pick up the next book.

DNF. After spending far too long slogging through this book, hoping it would pick up and get better, I finally decided to cut my losses.

A lot more world building is needed here. So many elements are introduced and then not address again for a long, long time. So many times I was left thinking “oh shit did I miss an explanation somewhere?”, but no, the reader is intentionally left wondering about the significance of various terms, groups, magic systems etc.

I get that it’s a trilogy and things are probably expanded on a lot more in the sequels, but there’s a big lack of foundation here to go off!

This was an entertaining debut from a new author, the plot and the introduction were interesting but slowed down a little in the middle of the book to set up a lot of plot advancement and fill in holes in the history and backstory that led to this series of events in the book. All coming together for a great ending to the book. I can’t wait to read the sequel!

Kdyby někdo knihu použil jako alkoholovou zábavu, kdy pokaždé, když padne slovo legacy, by se musel vypít jeden panák, na konci knihy by byli účastníci vskutku veselí a v náladě :)

Great story! I was engaged the whole time. Twists and turns galore and I liked the characters. No one is overpowered to where the story feels like there is no consequences.
