This could have been a 5⭐️ book for me, had it not been for the description. It’s a bait & switch and beneath the beautiful quality of this novel. It was unnecessary to mislead readers.  I strongly encourage readers to check trigger warnings for this book before reading it and know that they are not just part of the plot but actually form the whole novel. It’s a wonderful story. Just not exactly the story sold in the official plot summary.

This was not the book I expected and I was my getting mad, but I trusted the process, and then it made me sad but I liked the conclusion. She brought it together in a way that wasn't what we thought and i wasn't hopeful that'd be the case. But it's definitely not a romantic chick lit book, it's heavy and sad.

A great, heartbreaking read. I liked the twist and where the story lead to. A different take on a love story, but a heartfelt love story nonetheless.

Not a love story about romance, but a love story about friendship.

I read the synopsis and it bought it might be similar to “The Midnight Library”. After getting about halfway through and realizing that wasn’t the case, I almost gave up on this entirely. I would say I didn’t like the first 75% of this book. The characters were flat and not very likable; you had a Type A Jewish lawyer nerd (seemed a bit stereotypical) and a carefree ditzy blonde dullard who lives entirely “in the moment” at the whims of daddy’s credit card. There were random details that didn’t make sense (I could’ve sworn early on David’s eyes were said to be brown, but later on it said they were green, and after it said Aaron had green eyes…)

The ending was a bit different than I anticipated. No major plot twists, but I thought it was ended nicely.

Seemed a bit oversexualized for women in their 30s though
