I loved this story SO much, it made me wish I could've had longer to spend with it. I definitely put it down and was immediately in agony from the desire for more.

I thought this would be a nice palate cleanser after all the full length romances I’ve been reading and I would get thorough it quickly since it was so short.

Unfortunately it was disappointing. I was interested in reading a novel about a character who’s adjusting to life outside of prison because aside from being an advocate for prison reform and the like, I’m very much out of the loop of knowing what that experience is like. But it all fell flat.

It’s very much a slice of life book with some heavy topics—I also was just not feeling any chemistry between our leads. And also Vivienne is pregnant most of the book (we find out she had morning sickness early on) but the description doesn’t mention that which I feel like it should’ve. It’s not false advertising but it also doesn’t not feel like that??

I think I’m mostly disappointed because I was interested on reading a book with a pan lead but, yeah, this just didn’t work for me and I wasn’t going to force myself to finish it, even if it was short.

This felt like a slowburn that focused on the burn 😂 It's quite short, so it had a bit of a slice-of-life feel. I enjoyed it tho!

Ahhhh it was very cute, but also very real with its themes! I really enjoyed reading about a MC who just got out of prison, stories like this one are really important

Unfortunately, it's a dnf at 40%, it is depressing, but at the same time very neutral, I do not sympathize with the characters at all.

This was pretty cute. I love a message about how people still deserve a chance after jail. It is a novella, so I understand that things need to move quickly. I also get that these two worked together and developed feelings off-page, before this part of their story began. But it was a little too fast for me. They had a lot of miscommunication to work through, but I didn't feel like we got those conversations. But pretty good, all the same!

Sapphic &chronic migraine disability rep!!
This is a short quick read.
I enjoyed the story and appreciated allowing us to have a peak into life and struggles after prison.
I believe the story could have built the chemistry up between the two characters better.
