Still a solid way to start the year with my first book. The writing was good, I think it was mostly because of the pacing that I had issues about it because I think most of the story came about halfway. Still solid though, and a good and defining classic in the vampiric genre.

I wish it was a bit longer and spent more time explaining the genesis of the germ but otherwise this book was amazing and I could not stop reading. Way better than the movie.

the main character is annoying and unlikable but the environment and the way that the author deals with already existing lore of vampires is interesting. There are better things to read though and I wouldn't recommend it.
