An interesting read not because I found it particularly compelling but because it functions like a time capsule of all the old pedantic nonsense surrounding fashion. Not necessarily as egregious as the 90s but definitely of its era. The author was cheeky and got a cuddle out of me but ultimately I didn’t feel like I learned anything outside of her need to make me aware of just how witty and superior she is.

Delightfully snarky fashion lexicon. Freeman doesn't so much define terms as meander about them, but her meanderings tend to be amusing, and contain actually useful information. The potentially most useful--and funniest--bit was her (necessarily short) section on clothes that men understand.
