Wenqi's mom moves her father and her into HOME— a mysterious neighborhood where dead loved ones will revisit the homes. Liam is a lingerer (waiting for a house to become available to move into to reunite with the ghost) from her school that then moves into her front yard. The perspective also shifts to Mrs, a widower living across the street. The community HOME is trapped by their grief and their desire to reconnect with the dead. I enjoyed this novella. It was an interesting novella and view of spirits. The writing was great. Jiang created a strong setting and fluid plot and themes in ~150 pages. I enjoyed the two additional short stories included about other magical beings, but not as much as I enjoyed Linghun.
