I have mixed feelings with this book. The premise was eye-catching, I mean, a lady blacksmith sounded like a great and attractive idea, so I was excited to read it. It started really strong but then started to become kind of slow... at the end I enjoyed it, but sadly, not as much as I expected.
Another thing, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first two books before this one.
And oh, my, Sophie Jordan writes AWESOME s*x scenes 🥵🥵🥵🥵

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of this book!

In the third book of this series we get to learn more about Gwen Cully, the village blacksmith. Without giving too much away she saves our hero from the noose. The rouse she uses to save Kellan does not go as planned and quickly these two must become allies to save Gwen's reputation and Kellan's life. It took me a minute to fall in love with our hero but once I did it was all over. He is truly a modern man and loves the fact that our heroine is strong a capable! We have a book in feminism wrapped in a romance novel package. This series overall is so good and I strongly recommend this read to anyone who loves a HEA!

Sophie Jordan has never done me wrong. I love her combination of humour and romance with strong, interesting characters. This one doesn’t disappoint. Female blacksmith who is trying to keep her family’s shop afloat encounters the rogue the entire town is chasing after with pitchforks. One spontaneous engagement neither saw coming later and the two settle on an agreement to stay married for one year before going their separate ways. For her it means she will have help in the shop and meet orders and stop losing business to the other smithy down the road. For him it will mean he can have a rest from constantly swindling folk and avoid the noose. Oh I wonder what will happen next?

IT was hot and not just because of the smithy. Loved the banter and watching these two fall for each other was a delight. Can’t wait for the next book by Sophie Jordan as she’s definitely an auto-buy for me.

I wasn’t connecting to the characters. I was forcing myself to read on to see if it would grab me but I realized it never was going to.
