I love NPH and I absolutely loved this book! It's a really cute story and I'm looking forward to next stories. Plus, The Other Mr. Vernon is SO David that my heart almost melted!

Magic or tricks? That is Carter's question when he enters the town, Mineral Wells, and sees the acts in the sideshow and meets a magician. He discovers the true magic in tricks with the help of his new friends.

I loved the illustrations, and the whole book was light and fun. I'll definitely read the second book.

Magic Misfits is cute. It's cute, okay? I liked it. I didn't love it. If Barney Stinson and Lemony Snicket had a baby it would be the narrator. Sometimes it feels like information gets smashed in as quickly and as clunkily (yes clunkily) as possible, and everything gets wrapped up in a nice, happy bow at the end. The characters are cute, if not all that well fleshed out. Again, it was cute. Was it the best book ever written? Absolutely not. It was a silly. It was fun. It was a cute, but ultimately forgettable novel.
Have I said cute enough yet?
Cute.
Cute.

Okay, that's enough of that...

I have been meaning to read this book for a while, but I never had the chance until now. Come join the misfits as they learn new tricks, battle an evil circus owner (with an interesting name), too many clowns to be comfortable with, we have a wonderful MC with plenty of trouble and a past that can still be explored and I hope he will be a bit happier now with how this book ended, there are revelations that made me go AH and OH, you can learn magic tricks (though I didn't think they were that interesting, but that is because it has been a long time since I was excited about learning tricks), and there is more. There are various characters and I loved most of them (Ridley was the exception), my favourite were the twins. The book is also illustrated and I LOVED IT. All in all, I can't wait for the next book.
