I don't know why I waited so long to read/listen to Counts of Eight. I was hurting so much for what Anya had to endure at the hands of Nikolai and the only way for her to survive was to dance? That is a completely new plot I haven't read before so it was interesting to read. With how sadistic Nikolai was towards Anya, I kept expecting him to do something to Ezra but he never did so that's a mystery in itself and I wonder if it'll be explained in the next book.

The narrators did such an amazing job with the accents. They were able to bring so much emotion into their voices when it was needed and make the scene that much more emotional/heartbreaking and powerful.

I am definitely adding the rest of the series to my tbr especially Dance With Death because that cliffhanger, what the HECK!!

I don’t know what to say, except that I loved this story. I liked the way Brynn Ford wrote the torment around Anya’s life. I think it increased the angst when I read her POV. Ezra was also a good addition here. Personally, his changing reaction to Anya was a bit fast for my taste, but I still loved their romance.

A very well written story with characters that draw you in with their darkness and strength and willingness to make everything better in a world of captivity.
It’s darker than I was expecting and the author warning needs to be taken as it comes because there’s a lot going on that many people won’t like but I enjoyed it quite a lot.
It shows so much of the unseen part of some people or lifestyle that we appreciate but don’t know much about behind the scenes in real life. It also reminds me of some of my favourite authors that write dark romance.
I want and need the next books because I need my HEA in this story.

Counts of Eight is a deliciously dark romance that leaves you on one hell of a cliffhanger. But the worst part of this is...that the next audio isn't out.

This dark twisted story drew me in despite how taboo it was.

I found myself holding my breath needing to know what happens next.

It does end in a cliff hanger so be prepared!

Lord have mercy that is not what I was expecting. This is my first read by this author and holy hell did she grab me by the snatch and blew me away. This book was gut wrenching, uncomfortable which by the way if you can make my gut bottom out while I’m reading then that is 10 stars because the darker the better for me and this book had me feeling all kinds of emotions. Anya and Ezra are fantastic together they are completely combustible and HOT AF. Nikolai seriously has no redeemable qualities you just hate him for who he is and everything he does.. If you like DARK, GRITTY, RAW, with ALL THE ANGST this you definitely need to read Counts of Eight it was freaking amazing and I cant wait to dive into book 2 because I need so much more!!! This author has me salivating after these characters.

5 stars!!
Wow I have so many feelings right now! This isn’t your typical dark romance,it’s something completely different from I’ve read before. The dynamic between Nikolai,Anya and Ezra was very difficult to read at times and honestly some of the scenes were heartbreaking too!! I don’t want to give much of the storyline away because I feel like it’s better to go in blindly and not knowing too much!! But if you are looking for something different that touches on very dark themes this book would be for you!! **Warning this book does end on a cliffhanger and the next book won’t be out till September** I’m going to go cry now waiting!!
