This was a little different for me, as the couple was established from the start of the book (I haven't read any other books from this author, so maybe they were mentioned in previous ones) but it definitely made me wonder what we were in for.
Hudson adored his wife but had so many secrets. Hadleigh only really knew parts of who her husband was. Still, they were happy.... until they weren't.
This story was an emotional rollercoaster! Drama, twists, highs and lows - it took you on a ride, and I loved it!
I'll be checking out other books from this author, for sure.

Since [a:Lilian Harris|19163712|Lilian Harris|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1648227565p2/19163712.jpg] announced this new project, I knew that Hudson & Hadleigh's story was going to make me suffer, and although it was for different reasons, I really liked the direction that the author gave to the love story of these characters! Also, I loved reading Iseult & Gio again, learning about the very important connection that Hudson has with the Quinns and all the twists that Lilian prepared for her readers in this book.
Hadleigh is a woman who lived a complicated life and managed to find her true love when she met Hudson, her husband and the great love of her life, with whom lives a happy marriage, and full of love, however, Hadleigh has not been able to fulfill her dream of being a mother and it broke my heart to read her suffering for it, but always having the support of Hudson and her friends when things they are not going well, BUT without a doubt, the saddest part of her plot can be seen when Hudson disappears and our heroine's world collapses overnight in more than one way.
Hudson is the sweetest, most tender, loving and hottest husband I ever read, but he is also one who keeps many secrets for fear of losing the great love of his life. He has a personal story as interesting and surprising as Hadleigh's and it was one of the things I liked the most about this book, especially when he disappears and all that truth that broke my heart is discovered and that I can't explain much, because spoiler. What I can say is how much I liked the way in which Lilian developed the story between Hudson & Hadleigh since the reunion between them, even though he doesn't remember her.
And I think that's one of the things that scared me the most about Shattered Secrets: the whole amnesia thing, because I have to say, I hate that kind of plot! BUT I gave it a chance because Lilian Harris is one of my favorite authors and I think she told this story perfectly, with the best plot twists and a love story that healed my heart after reading the pain of these characters.

holy hell. this book is one of the best books i’ve ever read. do i say this after every lilian book? yes. will i say it again in the future? yes again. i will never not love a book by lilian because they are phenomenal. like i cannot explain how much i absolutely love shattered secrets. it has some tropes i’ve never read before and they were done so well. so much so that i don’t think any other similar books will live up to this one. my heart truly hurt for hudson and hadleigh so much. it was broken so many times just to be put back together in the best ways. hudson was truly everything i was hoping for and more. the way he couldn’t remember so much about his past but still felt an undeniable pull to hadleigh just shows how much they are meant for each other. hadleigh is also an incredible woman! she is so strong and kept pushing even though life had just dealt her the shittiest of cards. i adore her and hudson so so much and they mean so much to me. and do not get me started on the little glimpses of my messina crime family babies. the depth to not only the characters but to the plot twist and the story as a whole made this book absolutely flawless in my eyes. it had a level of realness to it and it was the perfect cherry on top! i cannot give this book enough stars!!!

Oh my word!! This book is excellent. Lillian Harris has done it again.. written a book that had me captured from the very beginning paragraph. Hadleigh and Hudson are a couple who are very much in love, they have a good life and they get along very well… but does Hadleigh really know who Hudson is? We find out how little she knows, when someone lets her in on his past when he disappears. We learn what Hadleigh is made of when this happens.. she never looses faith in him, never stops loving him, even when it seems like someone wants her to do just that.
I caught on to part of the who of everything before it was revealed.. and I have to admit.. I was furious. You’ll understand why when you read it. I was surprised by the second part of the who, however. That one caught me completely off guard…however, the more you know the more sense it makes.
Lillian Harris is very good at keeping you on the edge of your seat.. keeping you guessing.. but most of all, she’s good at writing, and this book is one of many from her that I read from start to finish quickly, and will re-read frequently. Her writing makes it easy to feel what the characters are feeling all along the way. I’m a lucky reader, as I get to read her work each time. She’s an artist with words and is able to put feeling into her words to make it feel like you’re a part of it all.
